Your Ultimate Destination for Degenhart Owls
Welcome to Degenhart Owl Depot, your ultimate destination for all things Degenhart owl-related. The Degenhart owl was produced from 1967 to 1978 by Degenhart's Crystal Art Glass, located in Cambridge, Ohio. What makes Dengenhart owls so special? These charming owls come in every color of the rainbow. It's estimated that around 360 different colors and finishes exist. Another interesting fact is that each color the Degenhart owl came in was only made once, except the color "Persimmon," which was made for charities. Given the variety of slag patterns and the nature of the glassmaking process, no two are identical, making them irresistible to collect.
The owl measures 3.5 inches tall, perfect for those with limited space since they take very little room to display. They have impressively intricate feather details that set them apart from normal pressed glass which can sometimes be lacking in detail. This owl mould was so dear to Elizabeth Degenhart that when she passed away in 1978 it was permanently retired to a museum, never to be used again.
